<p>The Bromo Seltzer Tower has been a Baltimore landmark since 1911. Captain Issac Emerson, inventor of the headache remedy "Bromo Seltzer" modeled the tower after the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy.</p><BR>

<p>From street-level to rooftop, the tower stands 288.7 feet (88.0 metres) high and was originally adorned with a 51 foot (15.5 metre) tall rotating and lighted blue Bromo-Seltzer bottle. Due to structural concerns however, the bottle was removed in 1936.</p><BR>

<p> Located in an old cannery, the museum has exhibits on various types of manufacturing and industry from the early 20th century. There are several hands-on sections with working equipment and other artifacts. </p><BR>

The BMI is also home to the "Baltimore," the oldest surviving steam tugboat and a National Historic Landmark. </p><BR>

<p>Built in 1812 for $35,000, this green-dome structure has been used for teaching medicine for nearly two centuries. Part of the downtown campus of the University of Maryland at Baltimore, Davidge Hall is a relic of the days when dissection was illegal; the acoustically perfect anatomy theater was lighted by skylights instead of windows so that passersby would not witness students working on cadavers.</p><BR>
